"It's, of course, a bit bittersweet to lose the victory after being in the lead for the majority of the race, but that's how it is sometimes," says Rosenqvist in a press release.
A poorly timed safety car for Rosenqvist allowed Spaniard Alex Palou to pass and win.
"I'm leaving here with pole position and a second-place finish, which isn't too bad," says Rosenqvist.
The race's other Swede, Marcus Ericsson, had to retire after a mechanical failure.
With this weekend's results, Rosenqvist is ninth and Ericsson is twelfth in the overall championship after five races.
