Few believe that Rosengård will be able to repeat the sensational last season, when the team won 25 out of 26 matches on the way to a superior championship title in football.
But even if Sunday's premiere against Piteå did not vibrate with championship vibes – Rosengård has lost nine starting players from last year – it was still a home win at Malmö IP.
That's the downside of success. But now it's fantastic to talk about those who are here, they're doing fantastically out there, says Rosengård's coach Joel Kjetselberg to Viaplay after the 1–0 win.
Like new recruit Oona Sevenius. The Finnish striker was one of the match heroes when Rosengård qualified for the semifinals in the Swedish Cup earlier in the week, and now she was behind the win again.
The second half had just kicked off when Emelie Woldvik's cross from the right found Sevenius, who slotted the ball into the far corner.
Piteå did not lack chances, including new recruit Emily Gray hitting the post in the 18th minute. But the visitors still ended up with zero goals in the end.
