Rosengård can breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to playing in the Swedish women's league next year as well. The 3–1 home win against already eliminated second-tier Linköping ensured that Rosengård climbed onto safe ground at the last moment.
"It's so damn nice that it's over," says a moved Emilia Larsson to Viaplay.
The biggest reason to celebrate was teammate Hanna Andersson, who ended the season with an incredible afternoon at Malmö IP.
Andersson scored 1–0 after just two minutes, but LFC managed to equalize before the first half was over.
In the second half, more came from Rosengård's captain. Hanna Andersson made it 2–1 in the 48th minute and then completed his hat trick with the 3–1 goal in the 84th.
Then Rosengård could breathe a sigh of relief.
The Skåne club, which was completely superior in the women's Swedish championship last year, began the final round in a qualifying position and needed to get past BP to avoid qualifying.
It was clear early on that Hammarby would provide the necessary help by defeating BP. In the end, it was a 6–0 victory in the Stockholm derby and BP is now forced to qualify against Kif Örebro.
Rosengård can also celebrate that the in many ways painful football season at least had a happy ending.
