Roony Bardghji Set for La Liga Debut with Barcelona

Roony Bardghjis ice-cold Panenka penalty with the U21 national team against Armenia has had a major impact. Now it is clear that the talent will play in La Liga with Barcelona. I am extremely happy for his sake. I know what a Barcelona fan he is and that it has been a big dream for him, says friend Jordan Larsson.

Bardghji, 19, left FC Copenhagen for the Catalan giant last summer.

He made an immediate impression in a few practice matches, but due to the club's financial concerns, he could not be registered in the league squad and ended up in the reserve team Barcelona Atlètic in the fourth division.

Last Saturday, the newspaper Marca wrote that La Liga had approved Barcelona's registration of Bardghji. With that, he is ready to play in the meeting with Valencia next weekend.

”Typical Roony”

We've talked a bit, he's told me a bit about how it is and so on. I saw the penalty with U21, it's typical Roony. He actually did the same when we met Sparta Prague two years ago.

At the same time, Jordan Larsson is experiencing one of the better periods in his career, with FCK. The performances in the club team gave him a new spot in the national team, which is currently in the middle of the first World Championship qualifying round.

Roony Bardghji will, despite his talent and club affiliation, have to wait and be content with playing in U21.

He's an incredible guy, a very exciting player. Hopefully, he'll be here too in the future, says Jordan Larsson.

I think that in the environment he is in (Barcelona), he can develop a lot, with the raw talent he already has. If he can get minutes and experience in the league and Champions League, it's only good for him.

Meet the right level

Jordan Larsson was, like everyone else, disappointed to lose the win in the last minute in the World Championship qualifying match against Slovenia.

When we lead 2-1, of course, we want to try to close the match.

What happens at Slovenia's equalizer?

I don't know if it's a communication error or what's happening. Of course, you want to have three points, at the same time, we take one in a tough away match

The offensively oriented national team only managed to get two shots on goal.

I think it had to do with the match image. It feels like they were very defensive and made it difficult for us. They stood low and wanted to counter. I think that's a factor, says Larsson.

The World Championship qualifying continues against Kosovo in Pristina on Monday evening.

For us, it's about going out focused and meeting the level we can be at. They will give everything on their home ground. It won't be easy.

Your chances of playing?

If Jon (Dahl Tomasson, the national team coach) wants me to contribute, I'm 100 percent ready.
