After a long time of speculation, where the Swedish right winger has been glimpsed in pictures on Barcelona's website, it is now official: U21 national team player Roony Bardghji leaves Copenhagen for Barcelona.
During the weekend, he said goodbye to the club – where he made 15 goals in 84 matches – in a video on Instagram.
"After five years in the club, it's time to say goodbye. It's time to take a new step. Thank you for everything", he said.
According to information from several sources, including the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Bardghji will train with the senior team under the leadership of coach Hansi Flick during the preseason.
The club itself writes on its website:
"Only 19 years old, this right winger is known for his skill, speed and goal-scoring ability, qualities that make him a strong candidate for the future."
Bardghji had large parts of last season ruined due to a cruciate ligament injury. He returned to the football field in March after a ten-month long break.
The contract with Barcelona extends until June 2029.
