It is an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in the right knee.
"I want to thank all the amazing people at FC Barcelona who have supported me during these difficult last 24 hours. To my teammates, the club's staff, the management and the chairman - your support really means a lot to me," the 20-year-old wrote on Instagram on Tuesday evening.
This is not the first time Bardghji has suffered a serious knee injury. He suffered a similar injury in April 2024 and was out for almost a year.
The Swede made a total of 28 appearances for Barcelona last season, scoring two goals. During the summer, several media outlets reported that the striker was on his way out of the club - either on loan or on a permanent transfer.
Bardghji broke through at FC Copenhagen, but was ready for the Catalan giants in July 2025.
He has made three senior appearances for Sweden, but was not selected for this summer's World Cup squad.
