After last season, Roger Rönnberg left Frölunda following twelve straight seasons at the club. The Swede's new destination was Fribourg-Gottéron, and the season has been a success.
Rönnberg took the team to the final, where the series was tied 3–3, leading to a seventh and decisive match against Davos.
With the score tied 2-2 after full time, extra time was needed, and Fribourg-Gottéron's Swedish player Lucas Wallmark scored the deciding goal.
It is the club's first league title in its 88-year history.
In addition to Rönnberg and Wallmark, the team also includes Swedish players Patrik Nemeth, Jacob de la Rose, Lucas Hedlund, Daniel Ljunggren and Marcus Sörensen.
