"People who behave like this should never be allowed to enter an arena again," the football star writes on Instagram.
It was during the weekend Saudi league match between al-Hilal and al-Taawoun that al-Taawoun supporters chanted Diogo Jota's name towards al-Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves, who was a close friend of Jota.
"The league must act and punish this kind of fan behaviour," writes al-Hilal star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the Professional Football League condemned the fans' behaviour in a statement and promised to take necessary action.
Portuguese national team player Jota died in a car accident last summer.
