“This is the unequivocal conclusion of the technical report prepared by experts from the Romanian state,” Romanian President Nicusor Dan wrote in a post on X.
A 14-year-old boy and a 53-year-old woman were taken to hospital on Friday after a combat drone crashed into an apartment complex in Galati, near the border with Ukraine.
The Russian embassy in Romania and President Vladimir Putin have tried to deny responsibility. But, according to Nicusor Dan, the designations on the wreckage and components found match those of Russian-made Geran-2 drones. Russia is "solely responsible," he said.
Russian drones have previously crashed in Romania, but without hitting residential buildings.
