On Saturday, news broke that Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso had died at age 76. On Sunday, the club played Bologna in the league and paid tribute to the late chairman.

Fiorentina's Rolando Mandragora opened the scoring in the match, and celebrated by holding up a purple shirt with the name "Rocco" printed on the back. After the match, he thanked the crowd while wearing the special shirt.

A minute's silence was also held before the match - just like it was before all Serie A matches this weekend.

The players played in black armbands, and banners paying tribute to Commisso were visible in both the away and home stands. The Fiorentina players also warmed up in specially made shirts with a picture of Commisso and the text "thank you Rocco".

The match ended 2–1 to Fiorentina.

Emil Holm played from the start for Bologna but was substituted at half-time.
