Roland Karlsson was together with Sven Colling host of ”Hallå trafikant” which was broadcast on Friday afternoons in P3 between 1982 and 1993.
Music was mixed with traffic messages, reports and greetings – all to calm down car drivers and others who were on their way home in rush hour traffic.
The program had its premiere on the radio as early as 1973, but then under the name ”Hallå bilist”. However, the long-runner had to go to the grave in 1993 when Sveriges Radio recast P3 into a more pure music and youth channel and the newly started P4 took over the traffic monitoring.
Roland Karlsson was a writing journalist on newspapers in Western Sweden before he started at the local radio station Radio Trestad in the 1970s.
