At 3 pm this afternoon, the new warning system SE-Alert will be tested. All mobile phones, even those on silent, will emit a loud warning sound.
Sweden's women's and girls' shelters (Roks) are now urging women who have a hidden phone for social media to turn it off completely so that it is not revealed.
For women in violent or controlling relationships, a hidden phone can be a link to relatives or support contacts.
The alert is being tested in Stockholm County and on Gotland and affects approximately 2.6 million people.
