After three straight quarterfinal exits since winning the 2022 Swedish Championship, Färjestad had the chance to secure a place in the semifinals at home, leading the quarterfinal series 3–0.
Instead, Rögle won the must-win match, turning a 0–1 deficit into a 2–1 lead, and forced a fifth game in Ängelholm on Wednesday.
Linus Sandin scored the winning goal on the power play with just over eight minutes left, and Arvid Holm made key saves, especially in the second period when the home team had several power-play chances, including a five-on-three for two minutes.
"It was a bit tense there in the second period, but it was fun. I got a good flow and we were on the ropes so it was nice," Holm tells TV4 Play.
