Former star Pelle Prestberg is not allowed to continue as assistant coach in Rögle.
The crisis team announces that Prestberg is being fired and replaced by Taylor Matson, who is being promoted from the junior academy.
"After evaluating the current situation, we see a need to change the dynamics of the coaching team and have therefore chosen to dismiss Pelle Prestberg and promote Taylor Matson from our junior academy.", says Rögle's sports manager Hampus Sjöström to the club's website.
Pelle Prestberg is one of Färjestad's biggest profiles, has won three SM gold medals and scored many goals during his career.
As a coach, it has been tougher, and in the spring, he was fired by Färjestad after the Karlstad team's playoff fiasco, where they were swept, 0–4 in matches, by Rögle in the quarterfinals.
Rögle, SM finalist in the spring, is 12th in SHL, only one point above the relegation line.
