The 30-year-old started all eight matches at the World Cup and celebrated on Sunday when Spain won its second World Cup title.
But the Spaniard has had injury-hit seasons at Manchester City. In September 2024, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him out of action for most of the season. Last season, he was troubled by hamstring problems and a nagging groin injury. He started 17 of City's 30 Premier League games.
Rodri's contract in England expires after next season. Manchester City opens the season at home against Bournemouth on August 23.
