Rod Stewart, 81, is unwell. Just hours before he was due to perform in San Diego, he canceled because of an acute respiratory infection and a sore throat. Doctors had forbidden him from singing, he said.

The following day, Stewart posted a video on Instagram from inside a private jet as he and his sons flew to Boston to watch Scotland play their first World Cup match of the year.

Fans were outraged and criticism poured into the comments section under the post. Stewart explained a few days later that he was feeling better but that his voice still wasn't strong enough for a full concert.
