A statement from the artist's publicist said doctors are pleased with Stewart's recovery and that he has returned to his daily activities. However, he needs time to recover before he can be on stage again.
"I'm very sorry to miss these concerts and I'm sorry to disappoint my fans, but I look forward to being back on stage and having fun with you again soon," Stewart said in a statement.
According to the tour schedule, the 81-year-old was due to perform in North America.
