According to Austria's Ministry of Defense, eight of the country's peacekeeping soldiers were lightly injured in a rocket attack on the UN base in Naqoura, reports several news agencies.

Unifil writes in a statement on Telegram that the rocket was "likely fired by Hezbollah or a related group", and that the peacekeeping force has launched an investigation into the incident.

"We remind Hezbollah and all actors of their obligations to ensure the safety of UN personnel and property. Any deliberate attack on them is a serious violation of international humanitarian law", writes Unifil.

Rockets against Israel

At least five people have been killed and more than 30 injured in an Israeli attack in Haret Saida in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The rescue service is still searching for survivors in the rubble.

The Shia militia Hezbollah fired a rocket salvo at the Israeli community of Dalton on Tuesday morning, and also shelled the town of Kfar Vradim, about a mile from the border, according to the movement.

About 50 rockets have been fired from Lebanon, according to Israel.

It is still unclear whether the projectile that killed a man in Maalot came from the same rocket attack that Hezbollah claims to be behind.

In parallel, Israel continues to attack western and southern Lebanon, with intense artillery fire and dozens of airstrikes, resulting in several deaths, according to the Lebanese newspaper L'Orient le jour.

Israeli Tanks

In Khiam in southern Lebanon, about six kilometers from the border with Israel, Lebanon's state news agency NNA reports that a large number of Israeli tanks have entered the city. It is the deepest incursion so far since Israel sent ground forces into Lebanon last month.

Several families that L'Orient le jour has been in contact with in the area have not responded since Monday afternoon, writes the newspaper.

On Monday, at least 60 people were killed in Israeli attacks in Baalbek in eastern Lebanon, according to Lebanon's Ministry of Health, which reports that several children are among the dead.
