Marcus Larsson in Aftonbladet believes that "Dopamine" is reminiscent of "With every heartbeat" but without being a repeat.
"Robyn once again shows that the best pop music always balances on the diffuse border between euphoria and sadness," writes Larsson, who gives the song four plus.
Kristin Lundell in Expressen and Johanna Paulsson in DN are satisfied with threes in their ratings, while Andres Lokko gives the Swedish singer four out of a possible six. Lokko recommends Robyn simply sounding like herself.
