The album has nine songs, including the single "Dopamine," which was released in November last year, according to a press release from the record label Playground Music.
In conjunction with the announcement, Robyn is releasing two songs from the album, the title track "Sexistential" and "Talk to Me." She will also perform "Sexistential" on the American talk show "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Wednesday, according to the record label.
The album was produced with Klas Åhlund, with whom Robyn has previously collaborated. The title was supposedly created as a joke before Robyn realized that it captured what she wanted to say:
"Exploring my sensual life is the same feeling as making a good song. It's such a beautiful kind of delicate vibration that takes so much work to keep afloat," she says in the press release, continuing:
"I feel like the purpose of my life is to keep myself horny - it doesn't have to be about sex, but it's about feeling sensual and attracted to things I enjoy, and not letting anything take over."
