"It's not that we have greater opportunities for secret wiretapping or anything like that. It's more about directing and prioritizing the operational part within the police," says Jens Ahlstrand, head of the police intelligence unit in the region.

There are certain groups of high-risk supporters linked to the Allsvenskan club IFK Gothenburg that are now seen as criminal networks, Ahlstrand says. Club representatives within "Blåvitt" - for example, former club director Håkan Mild - have received hatred and threats in recent years.

It's also about shining a spotlight on the phenomenon for the public, so they understand that fan culture is not just about football enthusiasts.
