Now the parties are turning to a mediator - the last time it happened, it ended in a strike.
On Wednesday night, the Swedish Confederation of Trade Unions called off negotiations. The distance between the parties was too great.
"There were very demanding discussions that led us to cancel last night," says the union's lead negotiator, Dag-Einar Sivertsen, according to a press release.
"We will now ask the Ombudsman for help (the Norwegian equivalent of the Mediation Institute)," he continues.
The CEO of the employers' organization NHO Aviation, Erik Lahnstein, confirms that they have turned to mediators.
"Unfortunately, we could not reach an agreement," Lahnstein tells Norwegian E24.
