"We are proud to be able to highlight Sweden's most promising young talents and give them a unique opportunity to develop their artistry in meeting with Swedish Radio's ensembles and with P2's audience. The listeners, in turn, get the chance to meet exceptionally gifted musicians at the beginning of their careers", says Pia Kalischer, channel manager at P2, in a press release.
Ellinor Bengtson, 20 years old, started playing the trumpet as early as three years old and has already had the opportunity to play both with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Benny Andersson's Orchestra. Today, she is studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
The "Classical Artist in P2" is appointed in collaboration between Berwaldhallen and Swedish Radio's P2. Previously, violinist Johan Dalene, soprano Johanna Wallroth, and David Riesberg, baritone, have held the title.
