Above all, the distribution of food is increasing. In 2023, 17,600 people received food assistance from the organization, in 2024 the number increased to 41,900 people.

This means that the proportion of those who come to receive food has increased from 53 to 82 percent in just one year, according to the new report "Voices from the Red Cross House".

"We meet more people who have nowhere else to turn. Many lack money for food, are homeless or live in social isolation. The Red Cross House has become a lifeline for more and more people. Political measures are needed to support all the people who turn to the Red Cross", says Ulrika Modéer, Secretary General of the Swedish Red Cross, according to a press release.
