More and more children are contacting Bris about eating disorders. Between 2016 and 2024, the conversations have increased by 395 percent, according to the organization.
Many children who call want to share their thoughts about weight, food, and appearance. The conversations also concern how they are affected by ideals that occur on social media.
Magnus Jägerskog, Secretary-General at Bris, tells P4 Malmöhus that the development is worrying. He wants the tech giants, who own the large social media platforms, to take greater responsibility for the children's safety.
