Norlén is praised for his "social efforts, his democratic and humanitarian commitment and his educational efforts in history and literature", according to a press release.
The ceremony took place on Saturday. At the same time, among others, Jensen Huang, CEO of the American chip manufacturer Nvidia, was appointed honorary doctor for "pioneering efforts in the development of graphics processors".
Previously, he studied business law at Linköping University and in 2019 he was appointed alumnus of the year.
The Moderate Party's Andreas Norlén was elected Speaker in 2018.
