This warning is now being issued by the EU's supervisory body, the ESRB, the European Systemic Risk Board, whose board includes the Swedish Central Bank and the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.
Advanced AI models can carry out faster and more sophisticated cyberattacks, according to the warning, which is aimed at the entire EU and advises authorities to take the risks into account.
The European Central Bank (ECB) is also warning of dangers linked to new AI models. The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority and the Swedish Central Bank are in turn urging Swedish financial companies to prioritise work to identify, manage and counter these risks.
"Companies need to assume that disruptions will occur and therefore build operational resilience," FI's Director General Johan Almenberg says in a press release.
