It was with great difficulty that ÖSK managed to retain their place in the Super League after a penalty shootout against Hammarby TFF in November.
It is now clear that the team next season will be led by Rikard Norling.
Norling says in a press release that he is "hugely humbled by the opportunity."
"I have already started the work and am really looking forward to what lies ahead and meeting the players to start our journey forward together," he says.
The agreement between Norling and ÖSK is written over two years and the multiple Swedish Championship-winning coach will be involved from the start when the team gathers on January 7th.
Rikard Norling most recently comes from FC Stockholm Internazionale, which he has coached since October 2023.
He has a total of three Swedish championship titles under his belt, two with AIK (one as assistant and one as head coach) and one with MFF. The last Allsvenskan club he coached was IFK Norrköping, between December 2020 and the summer of 2022.
"It is very pleasing to welcome Rikard to the black and white team. Rikard is a man who has worked for a long time in Swedish elite football, with experience from both the Allsvenskan and Superettan, and comes in with the poise and character that I think we need," says Enes Ahmetovic, the club's sports director, according to the press release.
54-year-old Norling replaces the club's former coach Patrik Haginges.
