Using advanced scanning technology and stylistic analysis, the museum has been able to confirm that the work was created by the Dutch master.

The painting “The Revelation of Zechariah in the Temple” from 1633 was recently donated to the museum, but before that it had been missing for 65 years.

"Materials analysis, stylistic and thematic similarities, alterations made by Rembrandt himself, and the overall quality of the painting all support the conclusion that this painting is a genuine work by Rembrandt van Rijn," the museum wrote in a statement.
