Rihanna has been present in court several times during the trial against rapper Asap Rocky. On one occasion, the couple's two small children were also present in the courtroom.
When it was announced tonight that Asap Rocky was acquitted on all charges, a certain jubilation erupted as Asap Rocky threw himself towards the audience bench and hugged a crying Rihanna.
Asap Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Meyers, had been accused of shooting at his childhood friend. He risked up to 24 years in prison if he had been convicted.
He himself has not yet spoken publicly since the verdict, but thanked the jury members after the acquittal:
Thanks for saving my life, he said.
