Frändfors withdrew from the production two weeks ago after several conversations with SVT.
"They just said, 'They understand.' I love the show, but I could never live with myself if I sat there and smirked at Alinia," Frändfors tells the newspaper.
The program's executive producer Michael Lindgren tells ETC that Alinia is "critical of immigration and not critical of immigrants" and that these are two completely different things.
"In principle, if you haven't been convicted of a crime, you're not disqualified. Then it's a completely reasonable public service stance to want to maintain diversity of opinion," says Lindgren.
