Three fights and over 200 penalty minutes, capped by Tappara's Emil Sylvegård and JYP's Antti Tyrväinen dropping their gloves and fighting in the final stages of the match, led the league's head to report both teams and their coaches to the disciplinary committee.
After the match, JYP's assistant coach accused Tappara's head coach, Rickard Grönborg, of planning the attacks in advance as retaliation for a foul tackle by Tyrväinen in the teams' previous meeting.
In addition to Grönborg's suspension, Tappara will also be fined over 100,000 kronor.
Grönborg will take over as coach of the Tre Kronor men's team for the 2026-2027 season.
