Villa Mussolini, where Benito Mussolini spent several summers, is in Riccione, near the Italian seaside resort of Rimini. Riccione's mayor Daniela Angelini says that the municipality's purchase of Villa Mussolini from a major bank is a victory for the city, The Guardian reports.
The villa was owned by Mussolini until the fall of the regime after World War II. Since then, it has been home to a restaurant, a veterinary clinic and an art gallery. Villa Mussolini will retain its controversial name.
