Family films are the largest category, but the highest prices are found in anime, horror and science fiction, genres where many films were released in small editions and are not available for purchase digitally.
On average, such tapes usually sell for a few hundred kronor, but in January a VHS tape with the horror film "The Hunchback of the Morgue" was sold for a breathtaking 41,500 kronor, Tradera said in a press release.
It's not just the movies that have become more popular. Sales of VHS players increased by 47 percent during the same period.
Sales of DVDs and Blu-rays have also increased, by 20 and 27 percent respectively.
