Based on the academic database Scopus, researchers at Delft University of Technology have identified 2,237 precise references and 963 creative puns.

"The Long and Winding Road", "With a Little Help from My Friends" and "Here, There and Everywhere" are the most used song titles.

Gabriel Budel, one of the researchers behind the study, says in a comment that some examples are truly brilliant, and mentions “The Lung and Winding Road” - an article about long COVID - and an article about patent law called “Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Patented Monkey”.

The study is published in PLOS One.
