The vessel Ocean Surveyor, belonging to the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU), was heading north when it ran aground off Möja in the Stockholm archipelago at 1 a.m. Sunday. No one was injured in the grounding.
The Coast Guard is on site and investigating the ship, which is still aground, but it is still unclear what caused the accident.
Environmental rescue resources are on the way in case there is an oil leak, says Mattias Lindholm, Coast Guard press spokesperson, to DN.
According to routine, the accident will be investigated by the Swedish Accident Investigation Board.
