Rescue diver dies while searching for bodies of four Italian divers

The diver died of diving sickness, Mohammed Hussain Shareef, spokesman for the Maldives' presidential office, said on Saturday.

This shows how difficult the mission is, he said.

The five Italian citizens are believed to have died while exploring some underwater caves at a depth of 50 meters on Thursday, but exactly what happened has not been determined.

One of them was found dead on Thursday evening; the others are still missing.
