The number of reported incidents that led to serious personal injury or, in the worst case, death increased by approximately 34 percent to 556 reports last year, according to the statistics.
This concerns so-called 3.3a reports – i.e. offenses against the third paragraph of the third chapter in the Work Environment Act – that were received by the authority during the year.
The increase can partly be attributed to an increased willingness to report violence and threats of violence since the Work Environment Authority launched a national initiative, but to what extent the initiative has affected the number of reports is not mapped.
Working at LSS accommodations and HVB homes is the most dangerous job in Sweden. It is an extremely vulnerable group, says Olov Östensson, union lawyer at the trade union Kommunal.
