A large police operation is underway on Sunday evening in Hölö, south of Södertälje. A man has been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter after being shot in the leg, the police write on their website.
We received a call about a person being shot outdoors in the leg. On the scene, we found an injured adult man, says Anna Westberg, the police's press spokesperson, to Expressen.
The injured man was, according to the police, conscious and able to talk before being taken to hospital. Otherwise, his condition is unclear.
An area has been cordoned off and the police are working with various resources, including a helicopter, and gathering information in the hunt for those responsible.
No suspect has yet been arrested for the incident.
An investigation into attempted murder has been initiated.
