"Artillery fire and gunfire from Israeli tanks were directed at the border areas of the city of Abasan al-Kabira, east of the city of Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza Strip", writes the civil defense in a statement.
According to the Israeli military, the country's forces have struck against suspected individuals who placed an explosive charge in northern Gaza.
"Earlier today, several suspected individuals were identified operating near Israeli forces in northern Gaza Strip and placing an explosive charge in the area. One of the air force's planes targeted the suspected individuals to remove the threat", the military states.
According to the health department in the Hamas-controlled area, four people have been killed and six injured in Israeli attacks on Sunday.
The first phase of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas expired on Saturday. The parties have not reached an agreement on an extended first phase, or a second phase, of the ceasefire early on Sunday.
