English giants Manchester United have made a big decision. The Premier League club has chosen to fire head coach Ruben Amorim.
The 40-year-old has reportedly been informed by club management and is leaving with immediate effect after 14 months in charge.
"The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wish him well for the future," Manchester United wrote on their website.
Manchester United have not yet announced a permanent successor, but club icon Darren Fletcher will be entrusted with leading the team in Wednesday's match against Burnley.
Amorim took over as head coach in November 2024 and United never really took off during his time in charge, currently sitting sixth in the table.
Last season, Amorim led the club to the Europa League final, which they lost to Tottenham. The league season ended in 15th place.
