The criticism concerns that the regulation is complicated and difficult to apply, writes IMY's director-general Eric Leijonram on DN Debatt.
"IMY believes that there are reasons to listen to this criticism. It is important that the rules focus on the information that poses high risks to our personal integrity. It is also essential that they do not create unnecessary obstacles to the innovation and technology use that is crucial for us to meet our contemporary challenges", writes Leijonram.
IMY further states in its report submitted to Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) that integrity-friendly innovation needs to be promoted, and that a comprehensive approach to integrity issues in crime prevention and working life is required.
"In working life, new technology has created more and greater opportunities for monitoring employees. The integrity risks are significant, not least since employees are in a dependent position in relation to their employer", writes Leijonram.
