Sexualized attacks and humiliation of Palestinians have escalated since 2023, the West Bank Protection Consortium (WBPC) says in its report.
“There is evidence that sexualized violence is used to pressure communities, shape people's decisions to stay or leave their homes and lands, and change their everyday patterns,” it says.
More than two-thirds of the households surveyed cite the increased violence against women and children as a decisive factor in their decision to leave their homes.
But even for those who stay, the violence has serious consequences. Among other things, many girls drop out of school and women stop working to limit the risk of being subjected to abuse.
