Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is angry. The 40-year-old refuses to play in the next match.

Saudi media has reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is sitting out the upcoming match to rest for tougher fixtures.

However, that information was dismissed by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, who stated that Ronaldo's absence had nothing to do with it.

Later, new information came from Portugal, according to which Ronaldo had instead chosen not to play in protest.

A Bola newspaper reports that Ronaldo is unhappy with the way Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, PIF, is managing his club Al-Nassr. According to Ronaldo, the club is not being treated the same as other PIF-owned rivals in the league.

The dissatisfaction is primarily about the lack of investment. It is still unclear how long the alleged strike may last.
