More than 1,000 Kenyans have been taken to Ukraine to fight for Russia, according to intelligence presented to Kenya's parliament.

Most East Africans were reportedly tricked into signing military contracts, according to a Kenyan intelligence report.

In recent weeks, several reports have emerged about how Russia has lured men from Africa to the front lines in Ukraine by promising them other jobs.

The government in Nairobi condemns the use of Kenyans as “cannon fodder.” Next month, Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi will travel to Moscow to discuss the issue.
