Up to 3,400 people – the vast majority of them women and girls – who were victims of sexual violence sought treatment in clinics affiliated with Doctors Without Borders in Darfur between January 2024 and November 2025.
The figure represents only “a fraction of the true extent” of the atrocities, according to the organization’s report.
According to many testimonies, it is primarily the paramilitary RSF and its allied militias that are using violence as a weapon of war during the bloody civil war.
"You can't stop the rapes. The only thing you can do is try to stay at home," says a woman in the Jebel Marra area of Darfur.
