According to a report by P4 Värmland, approximately 8,500 people - about a third of those who needed specialized palliative care - did not receive it in 2024.

The National Council for Palliative Care and the Swedish Palliative Care Register examined all 21 healthcare regions in a report.

Specialized palliative consultation teams and care beds are lacking in most hospitals in Sweden.
