Information exchange has been made, but no decision has been taken at this stage since we are waiting for project specifications from the department, says a spokesperson for Renault to the French news agency AFP.
Earlier on Sunday, the public service channel France Info stated that Renault is to begin manufacturing drones in Ukraine.
The information came after Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu on Friday said that a large French car company in cooperation with a smaller French defense company is to start production.
The minister, however, did not mention the names of the companies.
Production is intended to be located in facilities far from the front lines in the war against Russia, according to France Info.
The drones are then to be used by both the Ukrainian and French armed forces.
Renault left the Russian market after the outbreak of war in 2022.
