According to the country's Ministry of Culture, the works, painted by Renaissance artist Antonello da Messina, were stolen from the Regional Museum in Messina, Sicily.
These include three panels of the so-called San Gregorio polyptych.
The theft occurred just days after Italian police said they had recovered three masterpieces by Renoir, Cézanne and Matisse that were stolen from a museum near Parma in March.
