The announcement comes after the three bodies returned to Israel from Gaza on Sunday were identified and confirmed to belong to the hostages.
According to Israeli media, they have been identified as soldiers Asaf Hamami, Oz Daniel and Omer Neutra. All three were killed during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and were taken dead to the Gaza Strip.
The 45 Palestinians handed over on Monday are still unidentified.
According to the current ceasefire agreement, Israel is to hand over 15 Palestinian bodies for every dead Israeli that is returned.
